One of Sydney’s more elusive Craft Beer brewers, Grifter Brewing Co will be celebrating 2 years of brewing some exceptional beer at the Dove & Olive hotel on Thursday the 21st of August, at 6pm with a huge 10 tap take over.

The team behind Surry Hills’ own Grifter Brewing have been squirrelling away keg after keg for the last two years and will be pulling out a number of specialty, collaboration beers and limited releases that are no longer commercially available. On Thursday the 21st of August the Dove & Olive will surrender 10 of it’s 36 taps to include Grifter’s The Omen – Oatmeal Stout – 5.5%, The ever popular Big Sur – West Coast IPA – 6.7%, Marnies Majority Ale – Celebration Ipa – 6.8%  (A celebration brew to mark the birth of our head brewer’s first child), Cold War – Hopfenweizen – 5.3%, Kokonatsu – Coconut Brown Ale – 6% ( A collaboration brew between two birds brewing), Tortoise and the Hopp – Pilsner – 6.2%, Iron Wizard Tipplers Tap – Cascadian Dark Ale – 6.4%, Swill Of the Gods – Scotch Ale – 5% (a collaboration between Sydney’s Baxter’s Inn), and the very unique Acid Drop – Berliner Weisse Beer – 4.2%. The night will also feature a discount on best seller the Edward Pale Ale.

All are invited to come down and celebrate with the boys with an open invitation to the public, and the festivities kicking off at 6pm. For those who can’t make it down, we will be tapping beers that morning and they will be available for a limited time only until sold out. This will be the public’s last opportunity to taste some of Sydney’s best craft beers produced over the last few years.

The Grifter Brewing Company began in early 2012 when three home brewers, Trent, Glen & Matt were given the opportunity to take their recipes from the backyard, to a brand new shiny stainless steel brewery in Sydney’s Inner-west.  Since then the three have been honing their skills and unleashing their hand crafted ales across Sydney & Australia. Quality over quantity is always the motto as they focus on producing unique beers that remain highly drinkable. No corners are cut with the use of high quality ingredients and traditional brewing methods.

This will not be the first time we’ve partnered up with Grifter Brewing, celebrating a tap take over and product launch called Beer Jerks with local friends The Darling Jerky Co. as part of our commitment to supporting local producers and suppliers.

All of us at the D&O can’t wait to celebrate the Grifter Brewing Company’s second birthday with the Grifter team and our punters. We love our local craft beer at the Dove and you can’t get more local than the Grifter, based just around the corner in Arthur St. The night will be a great opportunity to taste the Grifters brilliant back catalogue of beers produced in the last two years, from unfiltered pilsners to big west coast IPA’s. We’ve featured quite a few of them on tap in the last few years so its great to have them all in the same place at the same time. If you like your craft beer, this one’s not to be missed.
